The Lighthouse of Manasota is offering weekly sessions on vision loss activities for independent living. Classes will be held at St. Marks Episcopal Church on Thursdays, between January 18 and March 8, from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Classes are free!
Classes will cover:
- Organizing and labeling, managing medication
- Telephone skills, time and money management
- Talking books and descriptive videos
- Housekeeping / Home safety
- Reading aids: glare control, lighting
- Grocery shopping and home food delivery
- Home repair
- Eating and restaurant skills
- Kitchen measuring, peeling, chopping, slicing
- Magnification
- Clothing care and organization
- Sensory gardening
- Grooming and personal care
- Oven safety, stovetop cooking, kitchen gadgets
